Keeping Safe Presentation Ceremony

The South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust Keeping Safe Initiative along with the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust held a joint presentation ceremony recently in Belfast City Hall to award certificates to newly qualified trainers.

This interagency initiative offers Child Protection training to staff, volunteers and parents who work with children and young people in community and voluntary organisations.

Michael Murray, Assistant Director of Children’s Services in the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust said “I would like to congratulate the new trainers and commend the excellent work of the Keeping Safe Partnership which plays a vital role in preventing child abuse and safeguarding children in our communities”.

The Keeping Safe initiative has thirty trainers providing free, accessible training to all community and voluntary organisations. The partnership is made up of the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust, Volunteer Now, Lisburn and Castlereagh, North Down and Ards and Newry, Mourne and Down Councils, Fire & Rescue Service and several community groups including Atlas and Kilcooley Women’s Centre, Resurgam Trust, Ascert, Downpatrick Surestart and County Down Rural Community Network.
