Volunteer Services launch their new logo during Volunteer Week 2018

On Monday 4 June the South Eastern HSC Trust Volunteer Service’s launched their new logo and striking purple coloured branded tunics to help make our volunteers instantly recognisable to patients and the public.

The launch date was organised to coincide with the start of Volunteer’s Week to not only raise the profile of the service but to also recognise the amazing work that volunteers do on a daily basis. Our volunteers work alongside staff in a range of roles specifically designed to enhance services. The fantastic contribution they make has helped to improve the lives of our patients and clients as well as providing the volunteers with opportunities to try something new, build confidence, develop skills and gain experience to improve career prospects.

Margaret Wallace who has been volunteering for the South Eastern HSC Trust for 15 years said “I wanted to give back some of the help that I had received, having had the experience of being a Nurse, a patient and a relative of a patient I felt I had a gift with people, I love people so volunteering seemed like something I could do!” Margaret works for four hours every Thursday and has connected with many like-minded people over the years finding valuable friendships within the volunteers that she works with.

Sonya Duffy, Volunteer Services Manager said “Volunteers are a great support to our staff in helping to improve the experience of our patients and clients, what they do is invaluable and I don’t think they realise the positive impact they make.”

The Trust currently has 535 volunteers working within 75 different roles and we are keen to recruit more. If you would like more information on becoming a volunteer please contact Volunteer Services an (028) 9056 4817.
