Ulster Hospital Laboratories highly commended at Impact Excellence Awards

The Ulster University Impact Excellence Awards were held on 3rd May 2018. For the second year running, our laboratories were highly commended for their commitment to training and supporting Ulster University Placement students.

Each year, the Microbiology, Biochemistry and Haematology laboratories within the Trust offer a 52-week placement programme for up to three students undertaking a degree in Biomedical Science at Ulster University. From over 200 applications, employers were shortlisted across 6 sectors, with the laboratories amongst a shortlist of three in the Public Sector category.

To be shortlisted and highly commended again recognizes the commitment of our Laboratories to providing a high quality placement experience for students. Congratulations to all staff involved with training placement students throughout the laboratory disciplines.

Pictured with the certificate are Senior Biomedical Scientists; Dr Ryan Graydon, Training Officer from Microbiology and Mrs Irene Griffin, Training Officer from Haematology.
