Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing introduced to Young People on World Mental Health Day 2018

On World Mental Health Day, 10 October 2018, 70 young people attended a talk hosted by Colin Youth Development Centre to hear about Mental Health and how best to cope with the many issues associated with stress.

The group were introduced to the Take 5 steps to wellbeing: Connect, Keep Learning, Be Active, Take Notice and Give. These five simple steps help maintain and improve one’s wellbeing. The young people were encouraged to build these into daily life and to think of them as their ‘five a day’ for wellbeing.  It was encouraging hearing so many young people asking questions about how to look for signs of stress to support their peers and hearing their positive comments relating to mental health awareness.
