Incredible amount of money donated by former patient.

Pat Hamill from Broughshane recently donated £12,554 to Macmillan Cancer Support in recognition of the treatment he received for mouth cancer at the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald.

The money was raised through various events including a sponsored walk, which Davey Donnelly helped to organise, a Big Breakfast, a raffle and by generous donations throughout the year from patrons of Mr Hamill's pub The Halfway House. This is the fourth successive year that Pat has raised a significant amount of money bringing the combined total of Pat’s donations in excess of £50,000.  Pat would like to thank his local community and everyone who donated to his fundraising efforts enabling him to make this donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Mr Lannon, Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald said: “This is truly, a remarkable fundraising endeavour once again by Pat, his family and community. This money will certainly be put to good use by Macmillan Cancer Support.”
