New vehicle for the Occupational Therapy Wheelchair Services Team

Friday the 5th April may have been a “damp day” but the Transport Department brought the “Sun Out” by handing over the keys of a brand new vehicle to our Occupational Therapy Wheelchair services team.

The Transport Department successfully submitted a business case back in January for the vehicle after it was identified there was a potential to further improve an already excellent service. This partnership working will allow our Occupational Therapists  to provide more client centred and effective care, whilst ensuring a speedy service. This new vehicle will allow the team to directly deliver end services to our clients cutting out the need for independent providers. Lorraine Ringland ( Professional Lead for OT’s) said “the vehicle provided today to my team, will ensure the timely delivery of wheelchairs and associated services and  enhance the patient experience. This is a huge asset to us and we have our first scheduled job this afternoon. My team are super excited to get behind the wheel!!”
