Community Medical Services Community medical officers are doctors who are professionally trained to deal with problems arising in children with specific medical conditions. They also provide training (for parents/school staff) where needed. They can also arrange for your child to see another specialist professional if necessary. All children who are undergoing formal assessment of their educational needs are seen by a community medical officer. They work closely with the South Eastern Education and Library Board to ensure the best services are provided for children with special needs.
