Child Assessment Clinics
This is a multi-disciplinary clinic involving physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech and language therapist, social worker and paediatrician.
Patients seen, any pre-school child where there are concerns about their development, behaviour etc. Referrals are accepted from other health professionals.

Specialist Assessment Clinic
This is a multi-disciplinary clinic; professionals involved include clinical psychologists, speech and language therapists and medical staff.
Patients seen, children/young people up to 18 years of age where there are concerns that they might have Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Referrals are taken from other health professionals and educational psychologists.

Other Services
Community medical staff also provide a service to schools within Down Lisburn Trust area. They would see children, referred by the school, who are having some difficulties in school. Children are often seen within the school setting or else at a clinic.
Advice is also given to schools on the management of chronic illness or public health issues. Training on medical conditions and their management is provided if requested.
They also provide medical advice as part of the assessment of a child’s special educational needs. |
