We in the Outpatients Department are committed to providing the highest levels of individual care and attention to all patients who are referred to us. General Practitioners, Consultants or the Accident and Emergency Department may refer patients to us. Our aim is to see all patients within 30 minutes of their appointment time but as some patients may require more time with their doctor, this may not always be possible. We ask patients to allow at least 1hour for their visit as they may need to see more than one specialist and require tests and investigations. About your appointmentHow to find us The main outpatient department is situated to the left of the hospital’s main entrance; it has a separate entrance with disabled access. Parking The Outpatients Department carpark is sited at the front of the hospital and can be used by all Outpatients. The entrance code for the carpark will be included in your appointment letter. Disabled carparking is available adjacent to the entrance of the Outpatients Department. Wheel chair access is also available. Should you require assistance or the use of a wheelchair please contact a member of Outpatient staff. If for medical reasons an ambulance is required to bring you to your Outpatient appointment, this can only be arranged by and on the recommendation of your GP or hospital doctor. When you receive your appointment Should you have any queries regarding your appointment, please contact a member of Outpatients staff at 028 92 665141 Ext 2031. If you cannot attend your appointment, please ring to cancel/reschedule as soon as possible to allow us to offer the appointment to someone else. What to bring with you We would ask that all patients bring to their appointment, the following items:-
If you are receiving Income Support and wish to claim for any travelling expenses, please bring your Income Support book (please note that only public transport rates are paid). The Finance Department opening times are 9.00am-1.00pm and 2.00pm-3.30pm. When you arrive in the Department When you arrive in the department please confirm your arrival with the receptionist and then proceed into the department seating area as directed. If you have not been called within 30 minutes, please speak with a member of nursing staff, who will be able to advise you as to how long you may expect to wait or the reason for the delay. After your appointment You may be required to attend the Outpatients Department for a follow-up appointment. Please advise the receptionist and an appointment letter will be sent out you in the post. Facilities available There is a vending machine located in the main waiting area for dispensing cold drinks. Other machines are located in the corridor next to the hospital shop, which is situated in the main entrance of the hospital The opening times of the hospital shop are:

The nearest payphone to the Outpatients Department is situated in the foyer at the main entrance; another is located on the ground floor close to the Elective Surgical Unit.
