Trust Equality Scheme

The latest Trust Equality Scheme has been approved at Trust Board.

The Scheme is important because it documents a course of specific measures for the more effective mainstreaming of equality issues into the organisation; its purpose is to actively promote equality of opportunity in all its functions, powers and duties. In addition to this, the Scheme incorporates measures for the promotion of good relations.

Although the issues of promoting equality of opportunity and good relations are complex and will take time to address, the Trust believes that the production of this Equality Scheme is a positive step in an evolving process. This process will be further developed as screening and Equality Impact Assessments become more central to our decision making.
