Class description: Planning and other documents outlining how we fit into the HPSS structure About us The Ulster Community & Hospital Trust was established on the 1st April 1998, the result of a proposal to dissolve and merge the North Down and Ards Community HSS Trust and the Ulster North Down and Ards Hospital HSS. The UCHT incorporates services across three main sites: Ulster Hospital, Ards Community Hospital & Bangor Hospital. Current Structure of Health and Personal Social Services in Northern Ireland (HPSS)
Health and Personal Social Services in Northern Ireland are provided as an integrated service. The four Health and Social Services Boards are agents for the DHSSPS. The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS) is responsible for giving direction to and monitoring progress of Boards and Trusts in addressing identified need. Boards and Trusts work together to make most effective use of resources and provide value for money in delivering services.
