Class9.Public Involvement and Consultation

Details of consultation procedures, decision-making processes, timescales and responses. Consultations in progress and how you can become involved.

Public Involvement

The Trust is fully dedicated to promoting the widest possible user involvement in all programmes of care. It plays a vital role in the formation of our short and long term plans for the care and services that we provide. The type of participation will vary across the Trust depending on the programme of care.

Equality Impact Assessments

Where the Trust makes a decision to close a service or makes substantial changes to the way that a service is provided, an Equality Impact Assessment process is required under section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998. The purpose of this process is to widely consult among the population to investigate the impact to which the proposed closure or change in service might have on the particular section(s) of the community when compared to others. The process requires the Trust to undertake an eight stage assessment that includes providing relevant policies and information to a broad range of individuals and representative groups to examine the likely impact of the change.
