What is Keeping Safe?

The South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust s Keeping Safe Initiative is a cascade training programme on good child protection practices. The main aim is to provide child protection training to voluntary and community groups to raise awareness on the issues in relation to Safeguarding Children and support them in providing safer activities and environment for children and young people.

All training is participative and includes presentation, group work and scenarios and is delivered by one of our twenty-eight accredited trainers.

The range of certificated courses includes-

  • Keeping Children safe – An introduction (Module 1)
  • Keeping Children Safe – Training for staff and volunteers (Module 2)
  • Keeping Children Safe – Training for Managers, Supervisors and Management Committee Members (Module 3)
  • Keeping Children Safe – Policy Development (Module 4)
  • Keeping Children Safe – Designated Officer Training

Tailored training sessions including Safeguarding Training for Children with a disability can also be arranged on request.
