Audiology and Hearing Aid Services

The South Eastern Trust Audiology department provides diagnostic and rehabilitative care to those with hearing loss and other audiological related conditions. Using specialised tests, both the type and severity of hearing loss can be assessed and an appropriate treatment or management plan can be implemented.

The Audiology Department provides a range of services both Audiology-led and is an integral part of ENT Consultant led clinics. The Audiology service is provided to all age groups, from Newborn Hearing Screening, through specialised Paediatric clinics to Adult Direct Referral clinics.
Audiology provides rehabilitative care in the form of digital hearing aids, tinnitus counselling, and tinnitus masking devices. Listening and communication tactics are taught to both the patient and family members. We also provide information on assistive listening devices, such as amplified telephones and doorbells, and refer to the Sensory Support Team for further advice and guidance.
