Press Release22nd June 2006 Commissioning Nurse appointed to New Downe Hospital TeamChristine Goan has joined the Project Team for the new Downe Hospital as the Project/Commissioning Nurse. Christine has more that 20 years’ experience in nursing, 11 of them with Down Lisburn Trust, and comes to the Downe from nine years in health visiting, based at Stewartstown Road Health Centre. Most recently, Christine was, for the last two years, Project Leader for one of eight regional projects re-designing community nursing across Northern Ireland. Before that she worked in the Belfast City Hospital, London and Edinburgh in a range of roles, including two years as a ward sister. She has also been for the past four years the nurse representative on the Lisburn Health and Social Care Group which gave her experience of local commissioning of services. Christine’s role at the new Downe Hospital will be to provide professional nursing support and advice to the project team during the final stages of the design process. During the construction process, the focus of the post will shift to the actual commissioning of the hospital. Assistant Project Director Eunan Carr said, “We are delighted to be able to call on Christine’s knowledge and experience.
