The Laboratory services a resident population of 270,000.
All GP surgeries, health centres, nursing homes, residential centres and hospitals are covered for both routine and emergency investigations.
Last year 700,000 patient specimens were investigated, with a total of 5 million tests being carried out on these specimens.
To provide an efficient and effective quality service the laboratory requires an integrated team of over 70 dedicated colleagues.
This team includes:
