ART & DESIGN

The Art & Design team has a colourful portfolio of responsibilities covering a wide variety of Art and Design issues throughout the Trust area.

Art and Design are intrinsically linked and one discipline complements the other to promote and create aesthetically pleasing, healing environments, and working areas fit for purpose.

To this end, the team is involved in the colour schemes and interior design of new building and refurbishment projects throughout the Trust area. This involves liasing with Architects, Estates Department, Health Estates, Staff and end users to specify finishes, furniture and furnishings and ensure quality outcomes, cost effective solutions and timely delivery in order that service provision is not adversely affected.

Art and Design also has an input into the development of a Trust-wide Way finding Strategy.

The Art & Design department give advice on furnishings, finishes and room layouts and are involved in the specification and standardisation of items such as patient seating, cubicle track and curtains, blinds, flooring, furniture etc. and would revise findings as new products come on to the market, in consultation with representatives from Manual Handling, Facilities Management, Laundry, Control of Infection, Occupational Therapy, Tissue Viability, Risk Management, Regional Supplies and relevant members of staff.
