CLINICAL BIOCHEMISTRY

Testing patient's blood samples for Liver function

Patients blood samples being tested for liver function

Clinical Biochemistry examines changes in the composition of blood and other body fluids associated with the diagnosis of disease and monitoring of therapy.

Examples are:

  • An increase in blood glucose in diabetes mellitus
  • Increase in urea in kidney disease
  • The presence of tumour markers in cancer

The department provides high quality analytical results from patients, interprets the significance of data and advises on further investigations.
