Fall Prevention

Fall Prevention

Fall Prevention is a major Public Issue. The Evidence of Effectiveness shows it must be targeted from a multidisciplinary point of view. You need to look at:

  • Primary Prevention in the community
  • Osteoporosis Prevention
  • Target Older people who present themselves at Minor Injuries or A&E with a Fall
  • Older Inpatients and nursing home residents who fall

Interventions:

  • Environment Check
  • Eyesight Check
  • Regular Medication Reviews. Certain Meds can put you at higher risk of Falls.
  • BP Check
  • Referral for OT,Physio,GP,CAB,Falls Clinic.
  • Making sure enviorment is warm enough.
  • Strengthing exercises
