Fall Prevention
Fall Prevention is a major Public Issue. The Evidence of Effectiveness shows it must be targeted from a multidisciplinary point of view. You need to look at:
- Primary Prevention in the community
- Osteoporosis Prevention
- Target Older people who present themselves at Minor Injuries or A&E with a Fall
- Older Inpatients and nursing home residents who fall
Interventions:
- Environment Check
- Eyesight Check
- Regular Medication Reviews. Certain Meds can put you at higher risk of Falls.
- BP Check
- Referral for OT,Physio,GP,CAB,Falls Clinic.
- Making sure enviorment is warm enough.
- Strengthing exercises
