Gynaecology - Neely Ward
This is a 20 bedded unit providing inpatient care for gynaecological procedures and early pregnancy up to 20 weeks gestation.
Early Problem Pregnancy Clinic
This is a nurse lead clinic Monday to Friday 2pm – 3.30pm for patients experiencing problems up to 20 weeks gestation who have not booked.
Referrals to the clinic can be made by GP, Midwife or Emergency Departments in the Trust.
Pre Operative counseling sessions
These sessions are for all patients having major surgery. They are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm in Neely Ward.
The following staff contribute to the sessions:
- A nurse from the ward provides information on admission requirements, nursing care and post operative advice
- A theatre nurse provides information on the patients journey through theatre
- The pain team explains the different methods of receiving analgesia post operatively
- The session concludes with a talk on Hormone replacement therapy
The ward has very experienced staff who are committed to providing a skilled, competent and efficient service which is responsive to the individual needs of the female patient and her family.
