Infection Control Infection Prevention & Control remains a priority for everyone both in the acute and community settings. Our objective was to create public awareness within the South Eastern Trust area (North Down & Ards, Dundonald, Lisburn, Downpatrick) and wider community, of infection prevention practices. Infection Prevention & Control campaigns tend to be hospital orientated, and concentrate on the reduction of hospital acquired infections. This initiative by the Infection Prevention & Control team is to roll out basic infection control principles into the public arena. The aim was to publish the following infection control principles in the community and hospital setting – highlighting the importance of:
Interventions within the hospital and community Alert Mats - cleanse your hands at the front entrance of our hospital Meeters & Greeters - volunteers who direct public to departments offered hand sanitisers
The Infection Prevention & Control team continues to evaluate and monitor infection control practices which will ensure standards are maintained within the hospital.
