Ulster Hospital Maternity UnitThe Ulster Hospital Maternity Unit is situated to the west of the site in a new facility which opened to patients in August 2007. The new 3 story building provides purpose built state of the art accommodation for mothers and newborn babies aswell as much needed office space for staff and a new play area for children. During the official opening on 24th October 2007, Health Minister, Michael McGimpsey, said “Real choice is about providing services that work for patients which can only be achieved by taking their experiences and views on board. By listening to mothers and involving them in the design of this maternity unit they have created a facility which will meet the needs of mothers and babies for many years to come.” Our Philosophy of care Aims:

Supervisors of midwives Supervisors are senior midwives who are charged with safeguarding and enhancing the quality of care for the childbearing woman. Supervisors offer sound professional advice and are responsible for ensuring midwives practice within the statutory rules and standards.
